Forestry consulting services for the benefit of our community and our ecosystems. I have experience in forestry, wildfire hazard reduction, timber harvest, equipment operation, and project design. I am available for consultations and project layout on a per hour basis. See below for some examples of projects I have completed.

Wildfire Hazard Reduction

I have completed hundreds of acres of wildfire fuels reduction projects around homes, businesses and in forest stands. My approach is thoughtful, thorough and keeps the aesthetic beauty of your forest intact by not using a "scorched earth" tactic.

Oak Restoration Specialist

I have specialized in the unique and important work of restoring and enhancing oak savanna, oak woodland, and mixed hardwood forest types. I have quite a lot of experience in thinning and managing oak woodlands.

Custom Tree Felling

I have specialized in hand felling on thinning operations for restoration, timber, fire hazard reduction and oak release.

Brush Management

I have mowed hundreds of acres of grass and brush using varioius pieces of equipment. I have done a lot of chipping and hand work to create and maintain firebreaks, access routes and habitat improvements for wildlife.

Biochar & Slash Treatment

I have experience in the implementation of various methods of biochar creation. Biochar is not for every site, but if you have a garden or agricultural land, then biochar could have some important benefits for you as a soil amendment. I have managed and burned hundreds of slash piles, as well as many other methods of slash treatment.

Sawyer Service

I am an experienced chainsaw operator with experience in felling, storm cleanup, firewood processing, trail clearing, and sawyer training classes.

Specialty Wood Products

I have experience in harvesting and manufacturing many sizes and lengths of peeled Douglas-fir poles for custom building projects.

Restoration of Land and People

I have worked hard to protect and enhance important ecosystems through thoughtful tending. I want to hear your ideas and your needs, and I am eager to address your concerns regarding land management. I can help you better understand the land upon which you live. I encourage landowners to open up land to cultural use by local native people who often need access to harvest important materials.

Prescribed Fire Preparation and Support

I have maintained NWCG fire qualifications and have participated in Rx burns, cultural burns, post-fire mop-up & patrol, and creation of containment lines. I believe fire is a great management option and I support and encourage the cultural use of fire by native people.
